Darrell Johnston

Darrell brings experience in criminal litigation, courtroom advocacy, legal research, and case management. His background includes jury and court trials, bail recommendations, and negotiations with defendants and defense counsel. He combines strong communication skills with careful legal preparation to navigate complex criminal matters.

Darrell’s legal background includes serving as an Assistant County Attorney for Steele County, Minnesota, where he managed a caseload of more than 300 criminal matters, participated in jury and court trials, and handled child support hearings. His previous experience includes handling divorce and custody cases as a contract attorney at Cooper Law LLC, working with guardianships and conservatorships, and assisting with Social Security disability claims. He has also served as in-house counsel for the Denali Film Festival, overseeing contracts, negotiations, and regulatory compliance. Darrell was admitted to the Minnesota bar in 2023.
