Aurie’s path to the legal profession has been shaped by a diverse background and a longstanding interest in advocacy. With an undergraduate education in biology and psychology and a minor in forensic studies, she explored several professional fields before returning to her interest in law. Her experiences in affordable housing, corporate finance, and legal internships exposed her to different areas of service and strengthened her desire to pursue a career where she could advocate directly for others. Today, Aurie assists clients in both family law and criminal defense, bringing a broad perspective and a genuine commitment to helping people navigate challenging circumstances.

Experience

Aurie’s interest in the legal field began during her senior year of high school where she completed her capstone project with a family law attorney and an internship with a Social Security law attorney in New Jersey. Although her professional experiences took her through different fields, her interest in the legal profession remained constant and eventually led her to pursue her law degree.

During law school, Aurie participated on her school’s National Trial Team and competed in mock trial competitions across the country. She received extensive courtroom training from experienced litigators and gained hands-on experience presenting cases before sitting judges. This experience gave her the courtroom skills and confidence to approach litigation with preparation and purpose.

Aurie takes a client-centered approach to advocacy, recognizing that every case represents a person’s life, circumstances, and goals. She believes her role is to serve as her client’s voice while respecting both their wishes and the responsibilities of the legal profession. Communication is central to her practice, and she strives to ensure clients understand their options, feel heard, and remain involved in the decisions that affect their future. She approaches each case with the goal of pursuing her client’s interests while maintaining professionalism and respect for the court.

Outside of her practice, Aurie enjoys spending time with her family, staying involved in her community, and caring for her dog. She is also a trial team coach, dedicating many of her weekends to mentoring and supporting aspiring attorneys. Her faith is an important part of her life, and she remains actively involved in her church community.
